COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
CAP, FILLER OPENING, RADIATOR,
PRESSURE, 7 PSI ASSEMBLY
This Commercial Item Description (CID) replaces Military Standard MS51062.
SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
Radiator cap is intended for use with radiator filler neck. All testing to verify performance should be in accordance with SAE J164.
MATERIAL:
Brass, sheet, or strip, alloy No. 260 temper optional, .062 thick.
Chain shall be fabricated per RR-C-271, Type II, Class 6, .028 thick steel, zinc coated optional finish. Chain shall have approximately 20 links per foot.
HEAT TREATMENT:
Stress relief after forging. Bottom plate shall rotate freely after assembly, unless otherwise specified. Dimensions are in inches. Tolerances ± .010 on decimals.
LABELING AND MARKING:
Marking shall consist of the part numbers and manufacturer’s identification name or number IAW MIL-STD-130.
CIVIL AGENCIES: In addition to any special markings required by contract or order, interior packages and shipping containers shall be marked IAW FED-STD-123.
